Earlier this month, in glorious fashion, students at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine voted to defeat the notorious BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement against Israel. According to a piece in Legal Insurrection by Cornell law professor William A. Jacobson, the referendum, which called for the economic, cultural, and academic boycotts of Israel, was rejected by an overwhelming majority of 71%. This outstanding success comes after a series of feats over the past semester including those at UCLA, UCSB, ASUC, Tennessee, and Indiana. LDB President Kenneth L. Marcus commented, “I am very proud of the students at Bowdoin for their victory against BDS. We must be, and we are, ready to fight hatred against Israel.”
