Fighting the New Campus Anti-Semitism at Northeastern University

LDB President Kenneth L. Marcus will be presenting to the LDB Student Chapter at Northeastern University School of Law on the topic, “Fighting the New Campus Anti-Semitism,” on October 29th. Traditional forms of anti-Semitism (such as swastikas and blood libels) have certainly not disappeared from college campuses, but they are taking the back burner to anti-Semitism masked as anti-Israel criticism. Marcus will discuss how, in the wake of the war in Israel and Gaza this past summer, tensions on university campuses against both Jewish and Israeli students are hotter than ever — and we must stop these damaging attitudes before it’s too late. LDB attorney Aviva Vogelstein, who will give a brief background on the work of LDB and explain how law students can get involved, will introduce Marcus. This event marks the continued success of LDB law student chapters.

The Northeastern School of Law launched the first New England LDB Chapter this past March with much energy and initiative. LDB law student chapters support LDB’s mission to advance the civil and human rights of the Jewish people and promote justice for all. In particular, LDB chapters share the organization’s mandate to combat campus anti-Semitism through legal means.

Any students interested in initiating an LDB Law Student Chapter to combat anti-Semitism on their campus should contact Aviva Vogelstein with The Brandeis Center at avogelst@brandeiscenter.com.
