After an epic battle, pro-Israel students have just scored an upset victory against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, defeating a hard-fought anti-Israel divestment resolution at the University of California at Santa Barbara.  These battles are now much closer than they were just a few years ago, as the BDS movement had recently scored victories at other University of California campuses, so this is a substantial victory for Israel supporters.

  1. I didn’t realize the extent of anti-Israel sentiment on U.S. college campuses. I know that it’s becoming rampant in Western Europe. It’s a damn shame! Is the college administration aware of it & what are they doing to halt it?

  2. This anti-Israel sentiment is more prevalent on California campuses than elsewhere in the United States, but it is spreading. Administrators often make statements indicating that they will not divest from Israel. More rarely, they sometimes also acknowledge that anti-Israel sentiment in the BDS movement can cross the line into anti-Semitism or anti-Israeli national origin discrimination.
