Our goal is to empower every Jewish student in America to fight anti-Semitic discrimination on campus.

Instances of anti-Semitic discrimination and harassment are on the rise, yet most students do not understand their legal rights. They do not know how to utilize university policies or anti-discrimination laws to combat anti-Semitism. As with administrators, because many students do not even understand the basic definition of anti-Semitism, they are unable to fight it.

To address this problem, the Brandeis Center developed a comprehensive Law Student Leadership Initiative. Our goal is to empower every Jewish student in the country – by ensuring they know how to identify anti-Semitism in all its forms, understand their legal rights, receive the resources they need to respond effectively, and have access to practicing attorneys who can provide legal and strategic guidance to address the anti-Semitism the students experience on campus.

Our Law Student Leadership Initiative is building a corps of young lawyers armed with the knowledge and experience to effectively address contemporary anti-Semitism. With our unique curriculum and approach, we provide these activists with the legal training they need to address anti-Semitism – by taking action on campus, educating undergraduates, and leading their campus and their region of the country in advancing the civil and human rights of the Jewish people and promoting justice for all.

Ensuring that tomorrow’s attorneys are trained to understand anti-Semitism is necessary to advance the civil and human rights of the Jewish people. No other organization has focused on educating law school students to assume this challenge. They are an ignored demographic. Only the Brandeis Center has devised a unique leadership program designed to prepare these key future leaders and give them the legal tools and motivation to remain engaged, effective advocates after they graduate law school.
