WASHINGTON, D.C. – The campaign against campus anti-Semitism just took another step forward with the expansion of a major litigation initiative. This afternoon, The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) announced the appointment of Jennie Gross to the position of Senior Staff Attorney. LDB, a national civil rights organization, is best known for its work fighting anti-Semitism in higher education.

LDB President Kenneth L. Marcus commented, “Given all of the problems that we’ve been seeing on campus lately, it is imperative for us to fight back vigorously against anti-Semitism. In some cases, that means litigation – and to be prepared, we are bringing on another highly experienced litigator. We are delighted to bring Jennie onto the LDB team. She brings a great range of skills and experience, and will provide terrific ideas as the Center continues to grow.”

Jennie Gross is Senior Staff Attorney at the Brandeis Center. She joins LDB with many years of experience litigating in federal courts on behalf of plaintiffs in class actions and mass torts, including the Vioxx litigation, antitrust litigation against Microsoft, and complex litigation against the tobacco industry. Jennie also has a strong background in policy analysis, and is the co-author of the textbook Class Actions Dilemmas: Pursuing Public Goals for Private Gain, which has been used to teach complex litigation to law students. More recently, Jennie completed a fellowship in Tobacco Regulatory Science at FDA.

Jennie graduated from Emory University (BA, Economics) and the University of Southern California Law Center (JD). She is also a former Doctoral Fellow in public policy at the RAND Corporation.
