Beyond Biglaw: Alternative Career Paths in the Law?

On Monday, March 28, LDB President Kenneth L. Marcus will speak on a panel at Northwestern University Law School on the topic of, “Beyond Biglaw: Alternative Career Paths in the Law?” Marcus, the Founder and President of LDB, author of the award-winning Jewish Identity and Civil Rights in America (New York: Cambridge University Press: 2010) and The Definition of Anti-Semitism (New York: Oxford University Press: 2015), founded the Brandeis Center in 2011 to combat the resurgence of anti-Semitism in American higher education. Before starting the Brandeis Center, Marcus served as a partner in several Biglaw firms. He then worked in public service, serving as Staff Director at the United States Commission on Civil Rights and was delegated the authority of Assistant Secretary of Education for Civil Rights and Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity governance. Marcus will be joined on the panel by John Lowenstein, Executive Director of the Hillels of Illinois.
