The Louis D. Brandeis Center Welcomes Rachel Lerman as Senior Counsel

Washington, D.C., July 8, 2021:

The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) is pleased to announce the appointment of L. Rachel Lerman as Senior Counsel. Ms. Lerman is a nationally renowned appellate litigator who has spent over 25 years briefing and arguing state and national appeals. Ms. Lerman has been LDB’s Vice-Chair and a member of the Board of Directors for a number of years. She will remain in these roles while actively engaging in LDB’s fight against anti-Semitism. Ms. Lerman’s timely addition expands and strengthens LDB’s resources to confront the unprecedented resurgence in anti-Semitism across the country and on college campuses, as seen in recent events at Stanford and Tufts University.

Chairman Kenneth L. Marcus comments: “I have had the pleasure of working with Rachel for many years now and I am thrilled to have her join as Senior Counsel at the Brandeis Center. Her extensive experience in complex civil cases will be a tremendous asset to the Brandeis Center as cases of anti-Semitism continue to rise at an unprecedented rate.”

LDB President Alyza D. Lewin adds, “I am delighted to welcome Rachel as our Senior Counsel. She brings vast litigation experience and extensive familiarity with the Brandeis Center to this new staff role. Rachel’s contributions to the Brandeis Center over the years have been immeasurable and I am excited to continue working together with her in this new capacity.”

Ms. Lerman states that she is “excited to be joining the Brandeis Center as Senior Counsel. I have long been a passionate admirer of Ken, Alyza, and the Brandeis Center, and I look forward to joining their team.”
