On Monday, June 13, The Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism (SICSA) at Hebrew University of Jerusalem will host an event entitled “Robert Wistrich’s Intellectual Legacy on Antisemitism” to honor Robert Wistrich z”l. Known as a leading authority on the history of Anti-Semitism, Dr. Wistrich served as the head of SISCA and was also a Professor of European and Jewish history at the University. He published numerous highly acclaimed papers and books such as, Antisemitism: The Longest Hatred. The event will feature a talk entitled “Reflections on the ‘New’ Antisemitism” by Professor Alvin Rosenfeld, Director of The Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism and the Irving M. Glazer Chair in Jewish Studies as well as Professor of Jewish Studies and English at Indiana University in Bloomington. Professor Rosenfeld also serves as a member of LDB’s Academic Advisory Board. Dr. Martina L. Weisz of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism will also present on “Building Power, Constructing Identity: Jewish an Muslim Otherness in Spanish Context.” Opening remarks will be provided by Professor Moshe Sluhovski, the Head of the School of History at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and closing remarks will be provided by Ms. Danielle Boccara, a Family Representative.
