Brandeis Center Director of Litigation to Testify Before the New York City Council Committee to Combat Hate on Security Perimeters at Houses of Worship

New York City, N.Y. (February 25, 2026) David M. Dince, Director of Litigation and New York Senior Counsel at the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights, will testify at the New York City Council Committee to Combat Hate on Wednesday, February 25, regarding the city’s plan to establish security perimeters at places of worship. This legislation was proposed in response to recent demonstrations outside of a New York synagogue in which protesters yelled violent phrases such as “Death to the IDF” and “Globalize the Intifada.”

The Brandeis Center is an independent, non-partisan, nonprofit corporation established to advance the civil and human rights of the Jewish people and promote justice for all. They recently secured major settlements with Pomona College, UC Berkeley, Nysmith School and the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys, and they filed federal lawsuits against UCLA and Columbia University for failing to address anti-Semitism on their campuses in violation of the law. Additionally, the Brandeis Center helped Jews challenge discriminatory practices at Microsoft and the New York Legal Aid Group’s union
