This weekend brings more good news from the Sunshine State. A month ago, the California legislature passed Assembly Bill 2844 – an anti-BDS bill – requiring public entities and state agencies to certify that they have not created policies that discriminate against any sovereign nation by violating state civil rights under the Unruh Civil Rights Act and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act. Governor Jerry Brown This weekend, that bill was signed into law by California Governor Jerry Brown. Governor Brown is now the 15th governor to sign anti-BDS legislation, joining chief executives in New Jersey, Tennessee, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Rhode Island, Georgia , South Dakota and South Carolina in the legislative fight against the Boycotts, Divestments, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
