LDB sued the groups and individuals that planned, coordinated, funded, and protected the UCLA encampments that discriminated against Jews. Among these groups are National Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Faculty for Justice in Palestine Network, WESPAC Foundation, and the UC Divest Coalition. The UCLA encampments included a ‘Jew Exclusion Zone’ enforced by armed “security teams” that operated throughout the day and monitored the perimeter of the encampments in a highly organized fashion. At the center of the encampment was ‘intifada hall’ that was defaced with anti-Semitic graffit and by individuals chanting to “kill all the Jews” and “From the River to the Sea”. LDB represents four individuals that are connected solely by the fact that they were Jews at UCLA; they include an undergraduate student, a law school student, a professor, and a campus rabbi. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Central District of California and alleges that the defendants engaged in a conspiracy to violate the civil rights of the Jewish plaintiffs, in violation of 42 U.S.C. §1985, the Ralph Civil Rights Act in violation of California Code §51.7, and the Tom Bane Civil Rights Act in violation of California Civil Code §52.1 Press Release (4/28/2025) Complaint (4/25/2025)
