Board of Directors The Brandeis Center is fortunate that such a stellar group of leaders is dedicated enough to our mission to volunteer their service. Thank you. Learn More Founder and Chairman Kenneth L. Marcus served as Assistant U.S. Secretary of Education for Civil Rights in two U.S. administrations. Among other accomplishments, he conceived The “Marcus Policy,” which established that federal civil rights law protects Jews and members of other faiths when they are targeted due to their ancestry or ethnicity. The Brandeis Center has used this legal doctrine to protect the rights of Jewish students and employees at numerous institutions. Recognizing its efficacy, other organizations have similarly utilized the Policy. Learn More President Litigator Alyza D. Lewin, a skilled Supreme Court advocate and former head of the American Association of Jewish Lawyers & Jurists, joined the Brandeis Center and became its president in 2018. Learn More Staff A skilled group of attorneys and other permanent members help the Brandeis Center deliver such impressive and consistent results. Learn More Academic Advisory Board A respected assemblage of professors, academic institution founders, and university leaders comprise our Academic Advisory Board.
