May 18, 2018 School District Required to Withdraw Punishment Against Teacher Who Stood Up Against Anti-Semitism

For over a year, three teachers at Stoughton High School have suffered from disciplinary measures for standing up against anti-Semitism in the school.  Last week, in a case challenging the school district’s actions, an arbitrator rightly determined that the discipline taken against one of the teachers, Ms. Jaime Regan, was without just cause and required the school district to “immediately remove the letter of reprimand from Ms. Regan’s personnel records and purge all reference to the letter of reprimand” from her file.

February 12, 2018 LDB Files Amicus Brief in Support of Arizona Anti-BDS Law

On Friday, the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) filed an amicus brief in support of HB 2617, an Arizona state law that requires state contractors to certify that they are not “engaging in a boycott of Israel.” The Brandeis Center filed its brief in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) challenging the First Amendment implications of the law.

Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) applauds South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster for calling on the South Carolina Senate to immediately pass H.3643, in time for the bill to be signed on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, on January 27, and reiterating his support for this important piece of legislation, which aims to combat anti-Semitism in South Carolina.
