The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) today applauded the South Carolina House of Representatives for its overwhelming approval of legislation that will help combat the growing threat of anti-Semitism on state college campuses.

The Brandeis Center is pleased to announce the arrival of Michael Grant as a Civil Rights Legal Fellow. Michael brings great energy and skill to the advancement of justice for all. He will conduct research on issues of federal and state law and provide general legal and policy support to LDB.

The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) today endorsed a bill introduced in the South Carolina Legislature which will help combat the growing threat of anti-Semitism on state college campuses.

The Brandeis Center is proud to announce its new spring interns for 2017, Caitlyn Carmichael and Edward Kunz. Caitlyn and Edward will bring their diverse experiences and skills to the advancement of justice for all.

The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law welcomes Katherine Hung as a winter intern. Katherine, a freshman at Harvard College, will work with the organization this month to combat anti-Semitism and promote the civil rights of Jewish students.

Today, the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) commends U.S. Senators Tim Scott (R-SC) and Bob Casey (D-PA) for introducing the bipartisan Anti-Semitism Awareness Act of 2016.

Today, following recent reports of anti-Semitic, racist, and hateful social media postings at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) called on the Tennessee State Legislature to address whether the series of anti-Semitic incidents violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Today, the Brandeis Center announced its next batch of law student events.

Brandeis Center’s Kenneth L. Marcus will speak at a symposium at Oberlin College on Thursday, September 22, on “Building a Hate-Free Campus Through Civil Discourse.”

Earlier this month, San Francisco State University released a 24-page investigative report, compiled by the Van Dermyden Maddux Law Corporation, detailing the disruption by anti-Israel student activists of an April 6, 2016, event featuring Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat.

On Friday, the UC Irvine Office of Student Conduct announced that it had concluded a three-month investigation into an aggressive and disruptive incident on the UCI campus last May.

Yesterday, the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) urged the University of Tennessee – Knoxville (UTK) Chancellor Jimmy Cheek to condemn recently reported anti-Semitic social media postings by current and former University of Tennessee – Knoxville students, demonstrating a long-standing problem on the UTK campus.

Yesterday, The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) submitted a statement to several federal agencies as part of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Civil Society Consultation process, urging officials to more effectively address campus anti-Semitism.
